Capitalism would have been unable to maintain itself without constantly extending its spatial base, the only way for it to compensate for its contradictions. This spatial dimension of capitalism, analyzed in this work, is at the heart of radical geography, a discipline that is far removed from mainstream geography which has invaded public space and school textbooks.

In this short book designed to be both pedagogical and political, the author exposes the capitalist logic at work in the spatial phenomena which are the subject of geographical research, i.e. globalization, the inequalities in economic development, land organization and urbanization, the retreat into nationalism and migratory movements, and, finally environmental questions.
The work is based on a geographic approach that centers on the daily lives of citizens and the oppressed. It is popular geography, or, better still, combat geography that connects the struggle at the local level to global dynamics.
