Holding a degree in philosophy, Éliette Abécassis taught at the University of Caen before launching herself into writing novels (Quamran, Sephardic, Archimedes’s Palimpsest, My Father, A Happy Event, A Conjugal Affair), children’s books (…), non-fiction (A Little Metaphysics of Murder, The Book of Smugglers). She is also a playwright, screenwriter, and songwriter.She is active in organizations defending the rights of women and children and battling violence against women (CorP, Exils Intra Muros and SOS les Mamans, for which she is a sponsor).
