Dorine is a beautiful, happy, courageous young girl. She dreams of becoming a pilot. Aeroplanes and flying are her passion. That didn't stop when she was left paralysed after surviving an air-crash ten years ago. Since then, she has obtained her licence to fly. Today, amongst other things, she is a test pilot for new aeroplanes in the States and member of an air-show jury in Japan. This is the sunny side of Dorine's story, but it also has its dark side: when she was released from hospital and told that she would never walk again, she findsthat her parents have made no arrangements to accommodate the disability of their daughter. Her mother rejects her, as she cannot come to terms with the accident. Dorine decides to leave home, pursue her dream and to find her own way. She has a longing to please and desperately fights for some attention from her father and the outside world. To that end she even goes as far as plastic surgery. Today she has gained a balance in her life and lives with her German boyfriend in Paris.
