The judge, who happens to be a regular at the bar where Marie works, offers her a job: work as his chauffeur for a few months to make enough money to pay the debt. During these trips, which are silent at first, a friendship slowly develops between the taciturn judge and the girl for whom life hasn’t been easy. Changing a River’s Direction brings two completely separate worlds head to head. By breaking down social barriers, this urban fable traces the magic of intellectual awakening and the blossoming of a bond between two prickly people who only owe their conversations to their unlikely meeting.
