A tender-hearted, crazy road trip between a teenage girl and her disabled brother.
A coming-of-age novel that fights prejudices and celebrates energy, fantasy, and a fervor for life.

She has just been dumped by her boyfriend of three years via text. In the little village of Gironde, where she lives, it’s easy to get the blues, and her winter is off to a bad start. And because this season is the worst in her existence, she learns that her father, whom she barely speaks to, has just died.
At the funeral, Luce notices a mother and a little girl standing apart from the group. She suddenly feels like she has seen this woman before. She ends up linking her with the woman she caught kissing her father in the street when she was a child.
The woman comes up to her and introduces herself. Luce realizes that she is face to face with her father’s mistress and her half-sister. She is stunned, and out of loyalty to her mother, she doesn’t accept the hand held out to her. Just a note with a name and phone number.
A few days later, she is calmer and decides to go to the address that corresponds to the telephone number. She finds the house and goes inside.
Inside the house, she finds the little girl she saw at the cemetery.
And a boy her age, somewhat awkward and quiet, but kind.
Something passes between them: she smiles at him and speaks to him.
A taxi arrives—tonight, Pierrot is going back to the home for young disabled people where he lives during the week.
She goes to visit him, without knowing why. He will answer all of her questions.
He dreams of seeing Lapland, because his father told him about it.
One day, she decides to pick him up and take him on a crazy trip to Lapland by whatever means necessary—hitchhiking, trains, on foot… They probably won’t get past Paris, but they will get to know each other better than they ever imagined and will become inseparable…
