This book is the fruit of a thousand encounters in the streets I walk, the cafés I use to go to, the underground, the trains and the planes I take, encounters I seek out to create a link with my fellow human beings but also in the name of Christ,... This book is the fruit of a thousand encounters in the streets I walk, the cafés I use to go to, the underground, the trains and the planes I take, encounters I seek out to create a link with my fellow human beings but also in the name of Christ, who has tirelessly walked the dusty roads of Israel, talking to strangers, forming bonds of friendships, taking his meals in good as well as in bad company, searching in the most luminous as well as in the darkest of men that little spark of the divine, and, through all these experiences and deeds, immersing himself fully into life.
So be not surprised if my cassock is out and about, strolling around in the world! Following the example of this God made a man, I have decided to live my priesthood with passion, courage and the liberty to raise my voice whenever necessary, always driven by the desire to record everything I am seeing and hearing, everything that marvels or intoxicates me, all the things that either astound me or disappoint me in this sacred field we call life, where God walks about in disguise.
It is a blessing to be able to share these experiences I have collected, even more so since the voice of the priest is no longer heard outside of his community. Gone are the days when artists like Jean Cocteau, Max Jacob, Albert Camus and Maurice Chevalier or great political figures like the general de Gaulle would invite a servant of God to their table so he might share with them his view of the world in all serenity!
