Collection : Terres de France
Release date : 26/08/2021
The story of a couple in love whose relationship falls apart with the arrival of an autistic son. But thanks to the virtues of music and string instruments, and with the unflagging support a loving entourage, the little Julien gradually comes into his own.
In present-day Vosges, Léopold and Marianne meet again for the first time since their schooldays, fall in love and get married. But when promoted to a new job in the Paris area, Léopold gradually grows more distant. A little boy is born prematurely who has inherited his mother’s delicate sensibility... In present-day Vosges, Léopold and Marianne meet again for the first time since their schooldays, fall in love and get married. But when promoted to a new job in the Paris area, Léopold gradually grows more distant. A little boy is born prematurely who has inherited his mother’s delicate sensibility and his father’s forceful will, but he is soon diagnosed as autistic. Léopold blames Marianne for his condition and violent scenes ensue, ultimately leading to their separation. Léopold stays away and only comes to the Vosges to visit his parents. As he grows up, a suffering Julien isolates himself and the lonely Marianne feels at a loss, but two friends – a nurse and a maker and restorer of string instruments – find the solution: music and learning the craft of the luthier. It is through working with his hands and his mind that Julien finds his place in the professional world and among his contemporaries.
