Monday, April 20, 2015. Claire leaves for South Dakota. She stops over in Amsterdam, then Minneapolis, where a third plane takes her to Rapid City, at the foot of the Black Hills. There, a hired car is waiting for her. It heads to the little town of Deadwood, and the hotel she reserved online a few months earlier. The establishment is called the Mineral Palace Hotel & Gaming, and has its own casino. All along the way, Claire keeps asking herself questions, returning in a loop over the strange events that brought her here. She is alone and far away from her family. Why and how has she found herself here, in front of Ernie, the grandson of Sitting Bull, and Sonja, his German wife? With a great deal of talent and self-deprecation, Claire Barré tells the story of her discovery of shamanism.
