How I learned trading, how I appeared on television, how I was in debt up to my nose, how I had to marry a failed author, and above all, how I had almost become a millionaire.”

Anita, a young graduate from Paris’s prestigious Sciences Po, is the head of a think tank project where she is barely earning enough to pay the rent for her studio, which is really just a storage room. For this young woman from a middle-class background, reaching the upper class always seems unattainable—and she confesses these frustrations to Rémi, her imaginary friend. When her umpteenth rich boyfriend leaves her, it’s just too much: she decides to become rich—very rich. To reach her goal, Anita is ready for anything: playing the lottery, appearing on a game show, going into the middle of the forest based on coordinates given by an IT specialist to learn the secrets of cryptocurrency… In this journey sown with traps and pitfalls, she will also cross paths with Antoine, a wealthy businessman who has recently moved to New York and dreams of becoming a bestselling author. Along the way, Anita will discover the real reasons that pushed her towards this absurd quest.

Rachel Vanier offers a refreshing comedy about an unsatisfied generation by questioning our relationship to material wealth in a suffering society.
