Régis Wargnier is a 73 year old filmmaker. His first movie received five nominations for the César, the French Oscars. He went on to work with household names such as filmmaker Claude Chabrol and actresses Catherine Deneuve and Sandrine Bonnaire. His most important movies are Indochine (1992) and East-West (Est-Ouest, 1999). Having retired to his mansion in Brittany, he now dedicates his time to his writing. In 2018, his first novel The Price of Excellence (Les prix d’Excellence) is published by the prestigious editor Grasset.
