Winter 2011. Two little girls drown in the Meuse River. The younger one fell into the water, and her older sister, who didn’t know how to swim, tried to save her. A few days later, a diver from the firefighting department dies while searching for the bodies.
Liège, January 25, 2012, 11 o’clock at night. In the middle of a blizzard, the van belonging to Jordan Novak, a piano renter, approaches the bridge-dam leading to Monsin Island. Suddenly, his headlights shine on a silhouette leaning over the railing. Jordan finds a distraught young woman and takes her back to his hotel. There, Éva confesses to him that she was going to throw herself into the water. When he wakes up the next morning, she has disappeared without a trace.
What happened?
What is the link between the terrible accident of the winter of 2011 and this woman’s mysterious disappearance?
Charged with the investigation, young inspector Lipsky spots his long-awaited chance to advance his career. But his haste and inexperience will drag everyone involved into a devastating whirlwind that, as is always the case with Armel Job, will reveal the true natures of everyone involved.
