During a dinner with the in-crowd under the watchful eye of some old “neo-Hussard” writers, Olivier meets Dominique—a tenacious editor, and the missing piece in our love triangle. Olivier will stick to his cynical dilettantism. Zaid will be sent to prison. And Dominique, who was first seduced by Zaid, will become Oliver’s companion in a romance he wrote ahead of time. But then she will mysteriously disappear, leading Oliver be locked up in a château far from civilization. Did Zaid orchestrate this act of vengeance? Only an insurance agent seems to be able to remember the three of them.
