Told in the manner of the atomized society it denounces, A New World is made up of micro-fictions that form a vast choral novel, a round in which each character passes the baton on to the next. With lots of humor, Anne Akrich probes the secret thoughts of these dysfunctional individuals, which can only be linked by the most basic connections, revealing a glaring solitude. She draws us into this troubling and strange world and presents a brilliant social anticipation and a ferocious satire of business culture.
