An idyllic resort on the Provençal coast is suddenly shattered by the disappearance of a couple: a summer flirtation between a boy and a girl no older than eighteen. They spend a wild night on the beach and go for a moonlight swim. The next day their parents search for them everywhere in vain. Years earlier, vacationers at L'Esquillette lived through a similar tragedy. Returning to the place where she spent her childhood vacations, a young woman investigates. Summer at l'Esquillette was outside time: the same group of friends, and the same rituals every year, until 1972, when her best friend suddenly and unexpectedly disappeared with her "fiancé." Caroline has not returned since then. But a strange Internet message, along with an odd premonition, makes her return thirty years later.
