In a village of Brazilian fisherman, three lives are about to cross paths. A survivor of a an earthquake in Bangladesh, Antoine holds within him the indelible scar of the hundreds of lives he couldn’t save. Louise Fabre, a French pianist, has not returned as planned to São Paulo, where her husband and seven-year-old son are waiting for her. As for Everton, his plans to get started in fish farming at the mouth of a local river are met with corruption and a lack of means. At first, there is nothing in common between these three personalities, whose lives have been rerouted. Now brought together on the uncomfortable seats of an old pick-up, they head deep into the heart of Brazil, towards Sertão, where rain is worth gold. Sertão, literally, “to be so much”: this truly is the final destination of their voyage.
