At the age of 43, Fred Fugen is an athlete specialising in extreme
air sports. The son of a parachutist and having practically grown
up with aerodromes around Paris, he became a master of his art
alongside his partner in flight, Vince Reffet. Together, they
became six times world champions of free flying. They became
the world’s most accomplished and talented parachutists. They
also became the only two people in the world to have flown with
the Jetman combination, a sturdy carbon frame equipped with
four reacters which allowed them to free fly at speeds higher than
300km/h.
Unfortunately in November 2020, Vincent passed away during a
training session when he lost control of his machine and hurtled
to the ground in front of Fred. Today, Fred has had to learn to fly
without his best friend. Throughout this work, we tell the
shocking story of an untouchable friendship dedicated to the
realisation of the wildest dreams and great sporting exploits. This
is the story of a duo who in only a quarter of a century
revolutionised the world of parachuting.
