Karski, a key figure in the Polish underground resistance movement during WWII, seems to have become a forgotten historical figure. Most people don’t know he was the man who offered the Western world the first eyewitness account of the Holocaust and the devastating conditions of the Warsaw Ghetto. In his memoirs, originally published in 1944, he recounts his incredible story from being a Polish soldier emprisoned by the Germans to meeting Franklin D. Roosevelt.
