But she scarcely has time to embrace him before a gunshot rings out and Romain dies for the second time. Determined to find out why the love of her life faked his own death, Laura embarks on a frightening quest for the truth that will take her from Saint-Nazaire to Plouharnel and from Quiberon to Paris.

And what she discovers turns out to be far worse than she could ever have imagined. She realises that she can trust no one and that corruption is lurking at the very heart of the police force and directly endangering her life and that of her daughters.
