Félix Guattari (1930-1992), disciple of Lacan, participated in the development of institutional psy-chotherapy. He founded the Institutional Psychotherapy Society in 1965.
In this book, first published in 1974, Félix Guattari described the effects of psychoanalysis on psy-chiatric and political fields, fruit of his fifteen years study of the matter. In Guattari’s view, the pro-blematics of revolution is necessarily linked to that of a radical reorganization of the conceptions cur-rent in the field of analysis. Thus the functions of analyst and militant must be brought together and unified by a principle of transversality.
