In the near future, a disrupted climate unleashes a deluge on the Earth. On their isolated farm in the south of France, Simon, Lise and their two children do what they can to survive the onslaught.
Journalist Simon, his wife Lise and their two children have left the pollution and insecurity of the city behind and settled in a farmhouse perched high up in the Cévennes, where they are leading a contented existence in harmony with nature. But suddenly an apocalypse unfurls across the planet: torrential... But suddenly an apocalypse unfurls across the planet: torrential rain cascades down from the heavens, and soon enough everything is underwater. There are torrents of mud, the rivers overflow, towns and cities are drowned and survivors seek refuge at the tops of buildings. Up in the mountains, Simon and his family watch as the water levels rise inexorably and ultimately find safety in the attic of their farmhouse; all around them is a vast expanse of water that is continuing to rise. When a semblance of calm finally seems to return, Simon sets out on a fragile dinghy in search of help – and of what remains of civilisation...
