the post – finds out. When he arrests the witch La Voisin, the former
Paris police prefect and founder of the investigative police doesn’t
know that he has taken the first step towards unraveling a shady
affair of poisoning people.
Entrenched in his office in Grand Châtelet, La Reynie has his work
cut out for him… all the more so in that a relentless, shadowy foe
is doing his best to foil him at every step, and that, among other
nasty criminals, a Parisian woman is knocking off half of the French
