A dark thriller that is the literary equivalent of Quentin Tarantino or the Coen Brothers

A year after her critically acclaimed debut novel Rock Star, Alexandra Julhiet returns with a new page-turner centered around an anti-hero that is out of the ordinary.

1972. Raymond, along with 7 other Californian-based prisoners, is sent to Vietnam to work for the CIA in exchange for his freedom upon his return to the US. The assignment: to run an underground drug traffic ring put into place by the CIA. The Walker Brothers, who led the group, embezzled millions of dollars from the CIA that they placed into a secret account somewhere in the US. Each member of the team was tattooed with a series of numbers that, when put together, would indicate the account number and the bank’s location.

35 years later, with memories of Vietnam long gone, Raymond is forced to confront this dark past. A deadly encounter with a former “vet” in Las Vegas, leads Raymond on a whirlwind adventure to track down all of the members from his group. He must gather all of the numbers in the bank account in order to collect the millions before his own number is up. But in order to do so, he must, among other things, confront a serial killer, dig up a body from a grave, break into a morgue, escape from a crack house, and all while on the run from the Drug Enforcement Agency.
